Starting with data from the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office, students with Media Milwaukee took an in-depth look at the record 343 drug overdose deaths in the county in 2016. They analyzed the data and interviewed officials, families and experts. These reports provide a telling look at who died; the drugs that killed them; where the deaths occurred; and how families were affected.
